There were many new initiatives that we implemented in 2024. We brought Mrs. Soma Kundu on board as a dedicated person to multitask and take full responsibility for the activities of the Trust. She serves as our Manager, Counsellor, Warden and much more—all in one. Her dedication, commitment and compassion have been one of the driving forces behind our growth in 2024.

OUR JOURNEY THROUGH THE YEARS
2020–2022
The Trust began supporting kidney patients in January 2020. In the initial years, its help was limited, with a total of ₹4,53,802 spent to help kidney disease patients meet hospital expenses and obtain life-saving medications.
2023
In 2023, financial support increased to ₹3,10,721, supported by donor contributions. Assistance during the year included life-saving dialysis, kidney biopsy, dialysis catheter procedures, life-saving medications and subsidised medicines or medical equipment.
2024
2024 marked a year of growth, with new initiatives across patient support, counselling, screening programmes, food support, education support, community outreach and volunteer support. Total financial outgoing for the year was ₹5,32,301.
HOSPITAL COLLABORATIONS
Kauvery Hospital
Electronic City
The Trust runs a charitable dialysis unit at Kauvery Hospital, Electronic City, where patients can undergo re-use dialysis at a subsidised cost of ₹1,000 per session. The Trust bears the remaining cost of ₹300 per patient. Currently, around 14 patients receive support through this programme.
Oxford Hospital
Attibele
The Trust sponsors three patients at Oxford Hospital, Attibele, by supporting one dialysis session per week for each patient and providing free monthly haemoglobin and iron injections.
Sipani Health Care and Dialysis Unit
Near Chandapura
The Trust fully sponsors one patient at Sipani Dialysis Unit near Chandapura and bears the entire dialysis cost. The unit provides dialysis at a highly subsidised rate and also offers pick-up and drop-off facilities from the main road.
Sri Sri Hospital
Kanakapura
From July 2024 to June 2026, the Trust sponsored two patients undergoing regular dialysis at Sri Sri Hospital, Kanakapura. The Trust supported 50% of their total monthly dialysis expenses, amounting to approximately ₹18,000 per month.
At present, the Trust does not sponsor any patient's dialysis at this hospital. It continues to support financially needy patients by providing free iron and haemoglobin injections.
Vijayshree Hospital
Jigani
Ramkrishna Charitable Trust has partnered with Vijayshree Hospital, Jigani, to strengthen and develop its dialysis facility and make dialysis more accessible and affordable for patients.
The Trust has invested approximately ₹20 lakh towards the development of the dialysis facility, including dialysis machines, an RO water plant and the required interior work. The hospital provides the necessary staff, maintenance and other operational support.
AWARENESS, RELIEF & SUPPORT

Community Health Awareness Programmes
Ramkrishna Charitable Trust believes that awareness is the first step towards prevention. Through regular health education programmes in schools, villages and community centres, the Trust has educated students, parents and community members about kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, organ donation and healthy lifestyle practices.
These interactive sessions encourage early screening, healthy habits and timely medical consultation, helping prevent chronic diseases before they become life-threatening.

May Measurement Month 2024
People screened in May 2024
Throughout May 2024, Ramkrishna Charitable Trust, in association with Kauvery Hospital, Electronic City, took preventive healthcare beyond hospital walls to apartments, hotels, factories, workplaces, malls, bus stands, old-age homes and communities across Bengaluru and beyond, including Chikkaballapur.
A total of 26,144 people were screened during the month for blood pressure, height, weight, BMI and blood sugar.
The month-long programme concluded with a World Hypertension Month Walkathon on 2 June 2024, along with Zumba, awareness activities, fun activities and recognition of nurses and volunteers.

COVID-19 Relief Activities
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ramkrishna Charitable Trust extended immediate support to vulnerable families affected by lockdowns and loss of livelihood.
Relief activities included the distribution of rice, pulses, essential groceries and food packets.

Patient Guest Houses
The Trust has rented two 1BHK flats near the back side of Kauvery Hospital to serve as guest houses for patients who come from far away for treatment and face difficulty arranging accommodation in Bengaluru.
The fully furnished guest houses support patients for the duration of their treatment, which may range from a few days to several weeks or months. The houses include the basic facilities required by patients, including a fully functional kitchen.

Patient & Hospital Support
The Trust supports patients beyond dialysis by providing essential medicines, medical support and grocery assistance where needed.
Source material documents free medicines provided to patients and in hospitals, grocery support for patients, and direct support through hospital-based programmes.
The Trust’s 2024 initiatives also included patient counselling and emotional support, food support for patients and caregivers, education support to underprivileged children, and community outreach and volunteer support.
